 The Evidence of Squares

Nothing is more obvious than a square, with regular proportions and angles with no surprise. However, don't be fooled because any painter or artist could tell you that the simplest things are paradoxically the hardest to render. Indeed, simplicity comes at the end along and tortuous path that requires investigation as well as sustained and complex work. This path, front initiation to mastery, is endless because the artist knows that we always need to go back to the beginning. Danielle is no exception to the rule.
Let's have a closer look. Juggling with squares is the work of a tightrope walker. One line is enough to break the harmony. The smallest step aside and the whole composition collapses. The squares you'll see here are survivors, worthy of their place on the wall after a perilous crossing, others tumbled in the void disequilibrium.
The search for harmony also implies the combination of monochromes and colors, separated by rigid forms. just like different worlds. The depth of the paintings is achieved thanks to an ethereal background, a sort of cosmic backdrop on which square presents its own economy. In this gigantic but serene battle, the colors diverge and fight each other. The outcome of the fight is always temporary and this is the main characteristic of Danielle's paintings. In this exhibition, just as in previous ones, we perceive a mystical dimension that is always alive in the Philippines.
You will ail enjoy it whether you fly over the squares and land with your eyes or feet on two opposites angles or whether you adventurously decide to dive in a world of colors where forces will keep you afloat.
